Purpose of the Consultancy
The consultant will support YSAFE to rethink and refresh the podcast format and production approach equip young people with skills in podcast creation, storytelling, and editing and support the launch of a new podcast season that is youth led and sustainable.
Scope of Work
The consultant will be expected to carry out the following tasks.
1. Podcast Review and Revamp Proposal
● Listen to selected past episodes of the YSAFE podcast
● Review existing format, tone, and production approach
● Take into account feedback collected from YSAFE members
● Develop a short proposal outlining recommendations for refreshing and improving the podcast, including content, structure, and workfl ow.
2. Training Design and Delivery
● Design and deliver an in person 2-day training focused on podcast creation. Training should be participatory, practical, and adapted to young activists.
● Core topics should include
● Scripting and storytelling
● Interviewing and engagement
● Basic recording and editing
● Audience engagement and promotion
● Support participants to record podcast content during the training
● Create a toolkit/short explanatory video for future volunteers

One of YSAFE’s key communications initiatives is the podcast Sex Positivitea, a youth-led space for conversations on SRHR, activism, and lived experiences.
